Indian Tailor from Ujjain Killed in Kuwait Airport Strike Before Family Wedding

An Indian killed in Kuwait airport strike has been identified as 55-year-old Manzoor Ahmed from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The tragic incident occurred at Kuwait International Airport just hours before he was scheduled to return home for a family wedding.

Manzoor Ahmed had worked in Kuwait as a tailor for nearly three decades. According to family members, he was preparing to travel to India on June 3 and had reached the airport to board a flight to Mumbai when the strike took place near Terminal 1.

Family Awaits Return That Never Came

His son, Mohammad Anas, said the family lost contact with him shortly after news of the airport attack emerged.

Ahmed was planning to attend the wedding of a close relative and had spoken to his family just a day before the incident. His elderly mother recalled that he was excited about coming home after a long period away from his family.

Soon after communication was lost, officials from the Indian Embassy informed the family about his death.

MEA Condemns Attack

India’s Ministry of External Affairs strongly condemned the attack and expressed concern over the targeting of civilian infrastructure.

The ministry stated that civilian populations and public facilities should never become targets during conflicts. It also called for restraint and an immediate end to attacks that threaten innocent lives.

Embassy Coordinating Repatriation

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait is working with local authorities to ensure the quick transportation of Manzoor Ahmed’s mortal remains to India.

Family members expect the body to arrive via Ahmedabad before being taken to Ujjain for the final rites. Relatives have requested assistance from local authorities to transport the remains home.

Growing Concerns Over Civilian Safety

The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of civilians caught in escalating tensions across West Asia. The death of an Indian worker who spent 30 years abroad to support his family has drawn widespread sympathy.

Manzoor Ahmed’s final journey home was meant to be a joyful reunion for a family celebration. Instead, it has ended in grief for his loved ones.
