Ayodhya’s Deepotsav 2025: A Record-Breaking Festival of Lights

Ayodhya, the sacred city of Lord Ram, once again etched its name in history with a grand and divine celebration of Deepotsav 2025. The event, held on the eve of Diwali, created not one but two Guinness World Records, highlighting the spiritual fervor and collective devotion of millions of devotees.

This year’s Deepotsav celebration witnessed the lighting of a staggering 26,17,215 earthen lamps (diyas) along the banks of the Saryu River, illuminating the holy city in an awe-inspiring spectacle of devotion and light. The entire riverfront shimmered with the glow of faith, symbolizing the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.

Adding another feather to its cap, Ayodhya also set a record for the most people simultaneously performing diya rotation, marking a mesmerizing moment of unity, devotion, and culture. The coordinated movement of thousands of devotees holding diyas created a breathtaking visual that reflected the spirit of togetherness and divine celebration.

The Guinness World Records certificates were formally presented to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who lauded the efforts of the people, volunteers, and organizers for making this monumental event possible. Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath expressed that Ayodhya’s Deepotsav has become a symbol of India’s cultural pride and global recognition.

The event was graced by spiritual leaders, dignitaries, and lakhs of devotees who participated in various cultural and religious programs. With chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoing through the air and the city illuminated like never before, Deepotsav 2025 stood as a testament to Ayodhya’s eternal glory and devotion.

“Ayodhya’s light today is not just from millions of diyas, but from the devotion of millions of hearts. Deepotsav is a symbol of our faith, culture, and unity.”
