Kerala HC Orders Police Protection for Viral ‘Kumbh Mela Girl’ Monalisa and Husband

The Kerala High Court has ordered police protection for Monalisa Bhosle, known as the “Kumbh Mela Girl”, and her husband Mohammed Farman. Monalisa became famous after videos of her selling rudraksha beads at the Maha Kumbh Mela went viral on social media. Her marriage to Mohammed Farman later sparked controversy.

Monalisa’s father filed a complaint in Madhya Pradesh. He alleged that his daughter was a minor and that Farman had taken her away without consent. Police then registered a case against Farman. The couple denied the allegations. They told the court that they married willingly and that their marriage was legal.

During the hearing, Monalisa submitted documents, including her Aadhaar card and voter ID. The court noted that the records showed she was an adult when she got married. The couple also told the court that they feared for their safety. They said they could face threats if they returned to their home state.

After hearing their concerns, the High Court directed the police to provide protection. The court also granted temporary anticipatory bail to Farman, giving him time to seek legal relief in Madhya Pradesh.

The case has attracted national attention because of Monalisa’s viral fame and the legal dispute surrounding her marriage. Further hearings are expected in the coming weeks.
