Hyderabad, July 1: Director S.S. Rajamouli has reportedly entered the final phase of shooting for his upcoming film Varanasi. According to the latest production update, the team has finished filming the biggest action sequences. Now, only around 80 days of shooting remain before the film is complete.
The update has created excitement among fans, who are eagerly waiting for Rajamouli’s next big film after the worldwide success of RRR.
Biggest Action Scenes Already Complete
According to the latest update, Rajamouli said:
“We have completed shooting the biggest action spectacles. Only the smaller scenes are left. Around 80 more days of shooting remain to complete the film.”
If the update is accurate, the production team will now focus on emotional scenes, dialogue portions and the remaining schedule.
Mahesh Babu Leads the Film
Mahesh Babu plays the lead role in Varanasi. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will reportedly play the female lead. Prithviraj Sukumaran is expected to appear as the main villain.
In addition, Dr. K.L. Narayana is producing the film under the Sri Durga Arts banner. M.M. Keeravaani is composing the music, while P.S. Vinod is handling the cinematography.

The makers are reportedly planning to release Varanasi worldwide on April 7, 2027.
