YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked YSRCP leaders and party workers to gear up for the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP president and former Chief Minister addressed party leaders in Tadepalli on August 25 and called for stronger grassroots preparations.
Jagan urged party leaders to field strong candidates and ensure that YSRCP contests every possible seat. He also asked party workers to remain active in their constituencies and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.
YS Jagan Calls for Strong Candidates in Local Body Elections
YS Jagan said YSRCP should focus on selecting strong and capable candidates for the local body elections. He stressed the importance of ensuring contests wherever possible so that voters have an opportunity to choose their representatives.
Jagan said the party would take unanimous elections seriously. He asked MLA aspirants and local leaders to work hard to ensure that YSRCP candidates remain in the electoral contest.
He also urged leaders to stay in their respective constituencies during the coming months and focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
The YSRCP president called for unity among party leaders and workers. He said there should be no room for personal egos or internal differences during the election preparations.
YSRCP Strengthens Grassroots Campaign for Local Body Elections
YSRCP plans to strengthen its grassroots campaign ahead of the local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan asked party workers to visit households, interact with voters and explain the party’s position clearly.
The party will conduct meetings at different organisational levels, including districts, Assembly constituencies, mandals and divisions. These meetings are aimed at improving coordination and preparing workers for the election campaign.
Jagan said QR-code identity cards would be distributed to party cadre up to the village level. Campaign and election-related material will also be provided to party workers.
Digital communication will also play an important role in the party’s preparations. Jagan asked leaders to remain active on social media and provide training to those who need support.
He also asked party workers to learn how to use the Jagan 2.0 App. The move is aimed at improving communication between the party leadership and its grassroots network.
Jagan Highlights Anti-Incumbency Against Coalition Government
During the meeting, Jagan claimed that there is strong anti-incumbency against the coalition government. He said YSRCP could perform strongly if the local body elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.
These statements reflect the YSRCP leadership’s political assessment. The actual level of public support will be determined by voter participation and the election results.
Jagan also asked the party’s legal cell to remain active during the election period. He alleged that party workers could face harassment and directed the legal team to respond to such complaints through appropriate channels.
The former Chief Minister also alleged that the police force could be misused against political workers. He asked party leaders to document such incidents and take appropriate legal action when necessary.
YSRCP Strengthens Organisation Ahead of Local Body Elections
The YSRCP’s preparations for the local body elections also focus on strengthening the party organisation. Jagan asked leaders to work as one team and maintain regular contact with voters.
Party coordinators, in-charges of 175 Assembly constituencies and other leaders attended the Tadepalli meeting. The discussions focused on election preparations and strengthening the party’s organisational network.
