The Modi Marcos Philippines meeting took place on September 13, 2026, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in New Delhi on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit, with Modi welcoming the Philippines’ participation as current ASEAN chair.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction at progress across all areas of bilateral cooperation and agreed to deepen collaboration in defence and security, trade and investment, space, railway infrastructure, fintech, education, tourism, science and technology, innovation, and people-to-people ties.
This builds on the Strategic Partnership the two countries established in August 2025 during Marcos’s State Visit to India, with Modi also welcoming the Philippines’ decision to join the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
The two leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest and reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation across every area of the Strategic Partnership.
