An Air India flight travelling from Frankfurt to New Delhi was diverted to Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday morning, October 14, following a security alert linked to a reported hijacking rumour. Flight AI-2030 landed safely in Jaipur, where security agencies began checking the aircraft and passengers’ luggage. According to media reports, the aircraft arrived at around 9:35 a.m., and passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.
The alert reportedly involved Squawk 7500, an international aviation code used to signal unlawful interference, including a hijacking situation. The circumstances surrounding the signal remain under investigation, and reports have not established whether it was deliberately transmitted or triggered by mistake. Authorities diverted the aircraft as a precaution and moved it to an isolated area for security checks.
Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), local police and bomb disposal teams took part in the inspection. Passengers were moved to a designated holding area while security personnel examined the aircraft and baggage. Initial reports said no injuries had been reported. Officials had not confirmed any suspicious item at the time of reporting.
The source of the alert and the exact sequence of events remain under investigation. Air India and airport authorities had not issued a detailed official statement in the reports reviewed. Further updates are expected as investigators establish what triggered the alert.
