BJP leader K. Annamalai supported questions raised by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over electoral roll revisions and related issues. He urged the government to respond directly to the concerns instead of ignoring them.
Annamalai also criticised the Delhi Police over the continued detention of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka in connection with a trespassing case at Jantar Mantar. He warned that prolonged detention could backfire and raise further concerns.
The BJP leader’s remarks come amid growing debate over electoral processes, political protests and the handling of activists by law enforcement agencies. While Annamalai said he may not agree with all of CJP’s protest methods, his comments highlighted the need to address the questions raised by the group.
He also called for a transparent delimitation process to ensure fair representation for southern states. Delimitation, which involves adjusting parliamentary constituency boundaries, has become a key concern in South India, where several states have raised questions about how population-based changes could affect their political representation.
Annamalai also praised RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s message on inclusivity and India’s diverse communities. His comments touched on electoral transparency, the treatment of political activists and the importance of representing the country’s diverse regions fairly.
