Keralam to Install Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines in Public Places

Keralam is planning to improve menstrual hygiene facilities in public spaces through WOMN (Women on the Move & Menstrual Needs). The Women and Child Development Department is leading this initiative. It aims to make sanitary napkins easier to access and provide safe disposal facilities for women.

The project plans to install sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators at KSRTC bus terminals, depots, major tourist destinations and other public places. The first machine is planned for Thampanoor bus terminal in Thiruvananthapuram.

The vending machines will help women access affordable sanitary napkins while travelling. The incinerators will also help them dispose of used products safely. These facilities can make public spaces more convenient and comfortable for women.

The initiative highlights the importance of menstrual hygiene and the need for better facilities in public places. By improving access to sanitary products, Kerala aims to make travel easier for women across the state.
