New Delhi: IRCTC has officially launched the beta version of its redesigned website, introducing a modern booking experience aimed at making railway ticket reservations faster, simpler, and more convenient for passengers. The upgraded platform reflects Indian Railways’ continued focus on improving digital services for millions of daily users.
Cleaner Interface and Improved User Experience
The new website features a refreshed design with a cleaner interface that helps users navigate the booking process more easily. IRCTC has removed several unnecessary captchas and pop-ups, reducing interruptions while booking tickets. The updated layout also makes important travel information easier to access across desktop and mobile devices.
Faster Booking and Better Seat Availability
One of the biggest improvements is a streamlined checkout process that reduces the number of steps required to complete a reservation. Passengers can now view seat availability across all travel classes from a single screen, making it easier to compare options before confirming their journey.
The platform also allows users to save passenger details securely, enabling quicker bookings for frequent travellers without repeatedly entering the same information.
Student Suggestions Help Shape the Platform
IRCTC said many of the new improvements were inspired by suggestions shared by students from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology during an interaction with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Their recommendations focused on improving usability, reducing booking time, and simplifying the overall customer experience.
Public Feedback Before Full Rollout
The redesigned website is currently available in beta mode, allowing users to explore its features and submit feedback before the final version is released nationwide. The upgraded platform will eventually integrate with the new Passenger Reservation Engine, which is expected to further enhance booking speed, reliability, and overall system performance.
