Yogi Adityanath Sets 24-Hour Deadline for Public Grievances in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed government officials to respond to public grievances within 24 hours and resolve undisputed revenue cases within 15 days. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the instructions aim to improve public service delivery and ensure faster action on people’s concerns.

The Chief Minister stressed that officials must engage directly with the public rather than rely only on reports from their offices. The directions call for prompt responses, clear accountability and immediate relief wherever possible. For people waiting for government action, the deadlines are intended to make grievance redressal more responsive.

Women’s safety and security during festivals also featured prominently in the instructions. Yogi Adityanath directed officials to strengthen security arrangements, maintain surveillance through CCTV cameras at temples and take strict action against stunt driving. Authorities were also asked to ensure that public gatherings remain safe and properly managed.

The Chief Minister issued directions regarding people affected by excessive rainfall. Officials must provide immediate assistance to affected residents and submit reports on damage within 48 hours. Timely reporting is intended to help authorities assess losses and organise relief measures without unnecessary delays.

Agriculture was another key focus. Officials were instructed to ensure that fertilisers remain available to farmers and that supplies are managed properly. Availability during important agricultural periods is essential for farmers who depend on timely access to inputs for their crops.

The instructions also covered traffic management, cleanliness and parking arrangements. Officials have been asked to maintain orderly public spaces and ensure that residents and visitors can move safely, particularly during festivals and busy public events.

The deadlines place responsibility on local officials to respond quickly and coordinate across departments. However, the effectiveness of the directions will depend on how consistently they are implemented and whether people receive timely solutions on the ground.

For residents across Uttar Pradesh, the key question is whether these measures will translate into faster grievance resolution, better public safety and quicker assistance during emergencies. The CMO’s directions set clear timelines, while implementation and follow-up will determine the results.
