PM Modi to Launch ₹22,655 Crore Development Projects Across Gujarat, Daman and Lakshadweep

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Daman on June 5 to inaugurate, dedicate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹22,655 crore.

The projects cover roads, healthcare, aviation, ports, tourism, power infrastructure and industrial development. They aim to boost connectivity, improve public services and create new economic opportunities.

₹18,800 Crore Projects in Gujarat

During his visit to Surat, the Prime Minister will launch development projects worth around ₹18,800 crore.

A major highlight will be the dedication of key packages of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The project will improve travel between Gujarat and Maharashtra and strengthen logistics connectivity.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of important sections of NH-56. The highway upgrade will improve connectivity in tribal regions and provide easier access to the Statue of Unity.

Healthcare and Industrial Infrastructure

The Prime Minister will inaugurate a new 220-bed ESIC Hospital in Surat.

The hospital will offer advanced healthcare services, emergency care and trauma treatment facilities. It will improve healthcare access for workers and their families.

In addition, he will launch power transmission projects and industrial infrastructure upgrades in Valsad, Dahej, Sarigam and Jambusar.

Major Projects in Daman

Later in the day, Modi will visit Daman and launch projects worth around ₹2,970 crore.

A key attraction will be the inauguration of the new terminal building at NAMO Airport. The facility will improve regional air connectivity and support tourism and business growth.

He will also dedicate NAMO Hospital to the nation. The hospital can serve nearly 1,500 outpatients daily and will strengthen healthcare services in the Union Territory.

Foundation Stones for New Infrastructure

The Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for projects worth about ₹1,630 crore.

These projects include:

  • Iconic Bridge in Daman
  • Daman Convention Centre
  • NIFT Campus at Daman

The projects are expected to boost tourism, attract investment and create employment opportunities.

₹885 Crore Port Projects for Lakshadweep

Modi will also lay foundation stones for port infrastructure projects worth ₹885 crore in Lakshadweep.

The projects include modern port facilities on Kalpeni and Kadmat Islands. New multipurpose jetties will support passenger vessels, cargo handling and fishing activities.

Furthermore, the facilities will provide fuel distribution, fish handling, ice supply and boat repair services.

Boost to Connectivity and Growth

The development package focuses on improving transportation, healthcare and economic infrastructure.

These investments are expected to strengthen regional connectivity, support tourism and improve public services. Moreover, they will generate jobs and contribute to long-term economic growth across Gujarat, Daman and Lakshadweep.
