Delhi: DMK AIADMK Alliance Buzz Grows Over New Coalition in Tamil Nadu

The DMK AIADMK alliance speculation has intensified following reports of fresh discussions between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

According to sources, both parties are exploring the possibility of forming a government in Tamil Nadu after a likely hung Assembly scenario.

Hung Assembly Triggers DMK AIADMK Alliance Talks

The DMK AIADMK alliance discussions are reportedly driven by the need to ensure political stability. With no single party securing a clear majority, both sides are considering a strategic tie-up.

As per emerging numbers, DMK is said to have secured around 59 seats, while AIADMK is close to 47 seats. Together, the two parties could reach a combined strength of 106 seats.

Power Sharing Formula Under Discussion

Sources indicate that the DMK AIADMK alliance talks include a possible power-sharing agreement. A formula of rotating leadership, with each party holding power for two-and-a-half years, is reportedly being discussed.

Such an arrangement, if finalized, would mark a major shift in Tamil Nadu politics.

Support from Smaller Parties

The coalition efforts are not limited to the two major parties. Reports suggest that additional support from Left parties, Muslim League, and other smaller groups is also being explored.

This broader coalition could help in crossing the majority mark and forming a stable government.

Historic Rivals Move Towards Possible Alliance

The DMK AIADMK alliance discussions are particularly significant given the decades-long rivalry between the two parties. Both Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam have been fierce competitors in Tamil Nadu politics.

Any move towards collaboration would be seen as a major political development.

No Official Confirmation Yet

Despite the growing buzz, there has been no official confirmation from either side. The DMK AIADMK alliance remains in the stage of speculation, even as political circles closely watch further developments.
