Amazon to Invest $13 Billion in India; New Waste Recovery Centre Opens in Kedarnath

New Delhi: Amazon has announced a fresh investment of $13 billion in India between 2026 and 2030. The company plans to expand its business, improve technology, and strengthen its logistics network across the country.

Amazon said the investment shows its long-term commitment to India’s growing digital economy. The company expects the plan to create jobs and support thousands of businesses that sell through its platform.India remains one of Amazon’s biggest growth markets. The new investment will help the company improve cloud services, AI technology, and customer experience.

New Step to Keep Kedarnath Clean

A new waste recovery centre has started operations in Kedarnath. Anandana – The Coca-Cola Foundation launched the project with the Healing Himalayas Foundation and government agencies.

The centre will collect, sort, and recycle waste from the pilgrimage town. Every year, lakhs of devotees visit Kedarnath. The growing number of visitors also increases plastic and other waste.

The partners want to keep the holy town clean and protect the Himalayan environment. They also hope the project will encourage responsible tourism.

India Focuses on Growth and Sustainability

The two announcements highlight different goals. Amazon aims to expand business and create economic opportunities. The Kedarnath project focuses on cleanliness and environmental protection.Together, these initiatives support India’s digital growth and promote sustainable development.
