New Delhi, July 1: Here’s good news for travellers! IndiGo has launched a new IndiGo Lite fare for passengers who travel with only cabin baggage. The new option helps passengers save money by paying only for the services they use.
Bookings for the new fare started on July 1. Passengers can book tickets through IndiGo’s website, mobile app or contact centre. Travel under the Lite fare will begin on July 15.
The fare is available on all non-stop domestic and international flights. It also covers one-way, round-trip and multi-city bookings.
Passengers can carry one cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg. They will also receive a free auto-assigned seat.
Those who need extra services can buy them separately. These include checked baggage, preferred seats, meals and priority boarding.
IndiGo said it created the Lite fare for passengers who want affordable travel without paying for extra services.
The airline also confirmed that passengers will continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points under the new fare.
With the launch of IndiGo Lite, passengers now have another budget-friendly option when planning their trips.
Why IndiGo Introduced the Lite Fare
IndiGo said the new IndiGo Lite Fare is designed for passengers who travel with only cabin baggage and do not need extra services. The airline believes many travellers prefer lower fares over additional benefits. By introducing this option, passengers can choose a ticket that matches their travel needs and budget.
The new fare is available on both domestic and international non-stop flights. It can also be booked for one-way, round-trip and multi-city journeys. Passengers can add services such as checked baggage, meals, preferred seats and priority boarding whenever needed by paying an extra charge.
IndiGo has also confirmed that passengers booking the Lite fare will continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points. This means travellers can still enjoy rewards while choosing a lower-priced ticket.
Travel experts believe the new fare could become popular among students, solo travellers, business travellers carrying only cabin baggage and passengers taking short trips. The airline expects the new option to make air travel more affordable while giving customers greater flexibility.
