An IndiGo flight operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar was involved in a minor incident at Srinagar Airport on Thursday morning after the aircraft hit a Visual Docking Guidance System pole while parking. Flight 6E225 reportedly struck the airport equipment at around 9:02 am during the parking process.
All passengers and crew members on board the IndiGo flight were reported to be safe, and there were no injuries. The incident occurred after the aircraft arrived at Srinagar Airport and was being positioned at its designated parking area.
The Visual Docking Guidance System is used at airports to help pilots safely position aircraft at the correct parking point. The equipment provides guidance to the flight crew during the final stage of an aircraft’s movement towards the parking bay.
The cause of the incident and the extent of any damage to the aircraft or airport equipment are yet to be confirmed. Further details are expected as the relevant authorities and the airline examine the incident.
