Northern Railways Cancels Around 75 Mail and Express Trains

Rail passengers travelling to and from New Delhi face disruption as Northern Railways has cancelled around 75 Mail and Express trains so far. According to the railway zone, the cancellations include approximately 40 terminating trains and 35 outgoing trains.

The cancellations have been attributed to the non-availability of incoming train rakes. When trains arriving at a station are delayed or cancelled, the same coaches and locomotives may not be available for their next scheduled departures. This can affect several services and disrupt travel plans for passengers.

Northern Railways said the cancellations include trains scheduled to terminate at their destinations as well as services due to depart from their originating stations. The total number of affected Mail and Express trains has reached around 75 so far, according to the railway authorities.

The disruption could affect passengers travelling for work, education, medical appointments and other essential purposes. Travellers connecting through major railway stations may also need to revise their schedules if their trains are affected.

Passengers are advised to check their train status before leaving for the station. They should use official Indian Railways information channels to confirm cancellations, departure timings and alternative travel arrangements.

The situation also highlights how the availability of train rakes plays an important role in railway operations. A disruption in incoming services can affect outgoing trains because the same sets of coaches are often scheduled for multiple journeys.

Northern Railways may issue further updates as the operational situation develops. Passengers should rely on the latest official announcements for information about additional cancellations or changes to services.

For travellers, the most important step is to verify their train number and journey details before starting their trip. With around 75 Mail and Express trains cancelled so far, checking the latest railway updates could help passengers avoid unnecessary delays and inconvenience.
