The landfall process of Cyclone Arnab has begun along the Andhra Pradesh coast near Yanam, close to Kakinada, according to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is continuously receiving updates from officials on the movement of the severe cyclonic storm and the situation in affected areas.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the landfall process had started and was expected to be completed by 4 AM. They also warned that heavy rain and strong winds could continue even after the cyclone completes its landfall.
Authorities have advised people living in cyclone-affected areas to remain indoors while the storm crosses the coast. Residents have also been urged to postpone travel in affected areas until conditions improve.
The state administration is monitoring the cyclone’s movement and coordinating with officials to manage the situation. People are advised to follow instructions issued by local authorities and rely on official weather updates for the latest information.
The Andhra Pradesh government has urged the public to prioritise safety, avoid unnecessary movement and remain alert until the severe weather passes.
