Viral Russia-Bihar Love Story Takes a Twist: NGO Says Couple Were Not Lovers

A viral video claiming to show a love story between a Russian woman and a young man from Bihar has taken a new turn. According to reports, the two were not lovers, and claims that the young man had travelled abroad were also denied. The incident reportedly took place in Purnia district of Bihar, where the woman was visiting villages as part of a social awareness programme. The viral claims have raised questions about how an ordinary interaction was presented online as a romantic relationship.

The woman, identified as Andrea Konali, was reportedly working with an NGO named Shivya, which is associated with awareness programmes on women’s self-employment. She was visiting villages in Purnia district in collaboration with a local organisation called Sathi. During one such visit, she interacted with local residents, including a young man whose video later circulated widely on social media.

The young man, who was referred to as Rahul in the viral posts, has reportedly been identified as Namit. According to information shared by the organisation, he spoke with Andrea during her village visit. Local women were also reportedly present and offered her a bouquet as a welcome gesture. However, some people allegedly recorded the interaction and circulated it online with claims suggesting a romantic relationship between the two.

The incident has drawn attention to the spread of unverified information on social media. An interaction during a community programme was reportedly presented as a love story, attracting public interest and speculation. The available information does not establish that the two were in a romantic relationship. Claims about the young man’s alleged foreign travel have also been disputed.

Officials associated with Sathi have reportedly said that they will consider legal action over the alleged false publicity. The organisation objected to the circulation of misleading claims about the woman and the young man. Its representatives also stated that they had tried to contact Namit but could not reach him. They indicated that he could also be questioned if legal proceedings move forward.

The incident highlights the importance of verifying information before sharing videos on social media. Short clips can be taken out of context and used to create misleading narratives about individuals. Until the facts are independently confirmed, claims about the alleged relationship should be treated with caution. The matter may develop further if the organisation proceeds with legal action.
