Bookings for the new fare started on July 1. Passengers can book tickets through IndiGo’s website, mobile app or contact centre. Travel under the Lite fare will begin on July 15.
The fare is available on all non-stop domestic and international flights. It also covers one-way, round-trip and multi-city bookings.
Passengers can carry one cabin bag weighing up to 7 kg. They will also receive a free auto-assigned seat.
Those who need extra services can buy them separately. These include checked baggage, preferred seats, meals and priority boarding.
IndiGo said it created the Lite fare for passengers who want affordable travel without paying for extra services.
The airline also confirmed that passengers will continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points under the new fare.
