Karnataka Lokayukta Raids Uncover Cash, Gold, and Assets Worth Crores

Bengaluru: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Karnataka Lokayukta conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations across the state in connection with alleged disproportionate assets cases involving government officials. The searches reportedly led to the recovery of large amounts of cash, gold jewellery, silver articles, property documents, and other valuable assets worth several crores of rupees.

According to officials, one of the raids in Davanagere uncovered around ₹40 lakh in cash, along with gold and silver jewellery and key property-related documents. Investigators suspect that some of these assets may be far beyond the known sources of income of the officials under scrutiny.

The raids were carried out at residences, offices, and properties linked to the accused officials and their relatives. Lokayukta teams examined financial records, bank documents, land ownership papers, and other crucial evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Officials said the operation is part of Karnataka’s continued crackdown on corruption and the accumulation of illegal wealth by public servants. The seized documents and valuables will now be verified to determine the exact value of the assets and whether they were acquired through legitimate sources of income.

Further investigation is underway, and more details are expected to emerge after the scrutiny of financial records and property documents is completed.
