Sonia Gandhi Joins Instagram, Shares Preview of Upcoming Memoir

Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has made her debut on Instagram, sharing a video introducing her upcoming memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love. The 544-page book is scheduled for release on November 10, 2026, by HarperCollins India and Alfred A. Knopf.

The memoir traces Gandhi’s journey from her early life in post-war Italy to her entry into Indian public life. It also recounts how she met former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1965 and reflects on the personal losses and major life experiences that shaped her journey.

Gandhi has largely maintained a private public profile over the years. Her arrival on Instagram has therefore attracted attention from supporters and social media users, many of whom welcomed her presence on the platform.

The announcement also sparked enthusiastic reactions online, with fans expressing excitement about seeing the veteran Congress leader on Instagram for the first time.

Her upcoming memoir is expected to offer readers a personal account of her life, family experiences and journey in Indian politics. The book’s release is scheduled for November 10, 2026.
