M. K. Stalin took a unique step in his election campaign. He travelled in the Chennai Metro to connect with voters. This happened just 13 days before the April 23 Assembly elections.
Direct Connect with Public
Stalin boarded a crowded metro from Central to AG-DMS. During the journey, he interacted with daily commuters. He asked them to support Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its rising sun symbol.
Passengers responded positively. Many raised their hands in support. Some photos also showed women in saris and hijabs joining him.
A Ground-Level Campaign Strategy

This move highlights Stalin’s simple and direct campaign style. Instead of large rallies alone, he focused on personal interaction. As a result, he reached working-class voters during their daily routine.
He later shared updates on social media. He said he gathered strong support from commuters before leaving for Thanjavur.
Tough Political Competition
Meanwhile, the election race in Tamil Nadu is intense. Stalin faces competition from several parties, including Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
However, Stalin remains confident. He predicted that his alliance could win over 200 seats.
Focus on Welfare Schemes
Stalin also highlighted key welfare programs. These include schemes like free school breakfasts for students. According to him, such initiatives have increased public trust.
Therefore, his campaign combines welfare promises with direct public outreach.
