Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has been invited to attend the Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada and Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 as the Chief Guest.
TDP MPs met Revanth Reddy and extended the invitation for the celebrations. The invitation comes ahead of the Dasara festivities, which are a major annual event in Vijayawada.
The Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri attract devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other parts of the country.
Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 is also being organised as part of efforts to showcase the city’s culture, traditions, tourism and heritage. The event is expected to bring together people from different parts of the region.
The invitation to the Telangana Chief Minister also highlights the cultural and social connections between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Vijayawada Dasara celebrations are centred around Goddess Kanaka Durga and are among the most significant religious events in Andhra Pradesh.
During the festival period, large numbers of devotees visit the temple and surrounding areas. Authorities are expected to make arrangements for crowd management, traffic control and other facilities for visitors.
Revanth Reddy’s participation, if confirmed, would add a political and cultural dimension to the celebrations and Vijayawada Utsav 2.0.
The event organisers are expected to announce further details about the programme and the Chief Guest’s participation.
