
Hyderabad, June 18: The Telangana Cabinet has approved several welfare measures for farmers and students. The decisions were taken during a Cabinet meeting held at the State Secretariat on Thursday.
Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced the key decisions after the meeting.
Rythu Bharosa Funds to Be Released
The Cabinet approved the release of Rythu Bharosa assistance for the Kharif season. Eligible farmers will receive ₹6,000 per acre under the scheme. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the fund distribution programme on June 30 at the Rythu Sammelanam in Madhira, Khammam district. The government plans to transfer the money directly into farmers’ bank accounts within ten days.
PM-Kisan Funds Also Coming
Farmers will also receive support from the Central Government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the next PM-Kisan installment on June 20.
Eligible farmers will receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts.
Many farmers in Telangana are expected to benefit from both schemes within a short period.
Bonus for Fine Rice Farmers
The Cabinet approved a bonus for seven varieties of fine rice (Sanna Biyyam). The move aims to encourage paddy cultivation and improve farmer incomes. The state government also urged the Centre to procure the entire grain production from Telangana.
Free RTC Travel for NEET Students
The government announced free travel for students appearing for the NEET examination on June 21.
Students can travel free of cost on all TGSRTC buses across Telangana to reach their examination centres.
The decision aims to reduce travel expenses and help students reach their centres without difficulty.
Telangana to Raise Key Issues with Centre
The state government will send a delegation to New Delhi soon.
The delegation will seek:
- More fertilizer allocations
- Approval for Hyderabad Metro Phase-2
- Release of pending financial dues
The government wants faster approvals for these important projects.
Digital Cabinet and New Committee
The Cabinet decided to move towards a Digital Cabinet system. The move will reduce paper usage and improve administrative efficiency. The government also formed a Cabinet sub-committee to study the VB-G RAM G scheme.The committee will submit its report by June 25.
