UP Storm Tragedy Kills 111 After Massive Hailstorms Hit Uttar Pradesh

The UP storm tragedy has left Uttar Pradesh devastated after powerful hailstorms, lightning strikes and heavy rainfall killed at least 111 people across the state. The extreme weather conditions affected 26 districts and caused widespread destruction.

Strong winds reaching nearly 130 km/hr uprooted trees, damaged homes and snapped electricity poles in several districts. Officials confirmed that 72 people suffered injuries, while 179 livestock deaths and damage to more than 227 houses were also reported.

Prayagraj And Mirzapur Report Highest Casualties

The highest number of deaths in the UP storm tragedy was reported from Prayagraj, where 21 people lost their lives. Mirzapur recorded 19 deaths, while Sant Ravidas Nagar reported 16 fatalities and Fatehpur witnessed 11 deaths.

Other districts including Barabanki, Bahraich, Kanpur, Basti, Sambhal, Hardoi and Unnao also reported casualties due to lightning strikes, falling trees and collapsing structures.

A widely circulated video from Bareilly showed a man being lifted into the air while attempting to secure a tin roof during the storm. The survivor later described the terrifying incident from his hospital bed.

Massive Damage Across Uttar Pradesh

The UP storm tragedy caused heavy destruction across multiple districts. Hailstorms and rainfall damaged homes, affected transportation routes and disrupted electricity supply in many areas.

Authorities stated that emergency restoration work is underway in affected regions. Officials are also monitoring weather conditions closely following the severe storm activity.

Yogi Adityanath Directs Relief Measures

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed district officials to visit affected areas and provide immediate support to victims and their families.

The state government directed district magistrates to submit regular updates and speed up compensation surveys for affected residents.

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also appealed for urgent relief efforts and called for food, shelter, medical treatment and compensation for victims.

International Leaders Express Condolences

The UP storm tragedy received global attention after several international leaders and governments expressed condolences over the loss of lives.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message expressing sympathy for the victims and their families. The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a statement offering condolences and solidarity with India.

Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong shared a message expressing sadness over the disaster and offered prayers for the affected families.

Relief and rescue operations continue across several districts as authorities work to restore normalcy following one of the deadliest weather disasters in recent months.
