Andhra Pradesh is preparing for local body elections. State Transport, Youth and Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy said the polls are likely to take place in August and September. The elections will cover Sarpanch, MPTC, and ZPTC posts across the state.Ramprasad Reddy shared the update during a meeting with party leaders and workers in the Rayachoti constituency. His announcement has increased political activity in many districts.
Minister Calls for Early Groundwork
The minister asked party workers to begin preparations at the village level. He urged them to visit every village and explain the welfare schemes and development works introduced by the coalition government. He also asked party leaders to start campaign activities before the official election notification. According to him, early preparation will help the party stay ahead of its rivals. At the same time, he assured workers that the party leadership would support them throughout the election campaign.
Government Says It Is Ready
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government has informed the High Court that it is ready to conduct the elections. Officials are now completing the reservation process. Once they finish the process, the State Election Commission may announce the election schedule. Political observers expect the election notification within the next two months.

The upcoming local body elections will be an important test for both the ruling coalition and the opposition. Both sides have already started planning their campaign strategies.
