Kolkata: Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil) has issued an official clarification after reports claimed that a fire had broken out at its Haldia Refinery in West Bengal.
The company said the reports are incorrect and confirmed that the fire did not occur inside Haldia Refinery. According to IndianOil, the incident took place near the south gate of a neighbouring industrial establishment, not within the refinery premises.
IndianOil also assured the public that Haldia Refinery is operating safely and normally. The company said all safety systems and operational protocols remain fully in place, and refinery operations have not been affected.
The clarification came after news reports and social media posts linked the fire to the refinery, creating confusion among the public.

IndianOil Extends Support
IndianOil said it is helping the neighbouring industrial unit by providing all possible firefighting assistance and support. The company added that it is acting as a responsible neighbouring industry while emergency teams continue to handle the situation.
The clarification aims to remove confusion and reassure people that Haldia Refinery continues to function without any disruption.
Earlier reports had claimed that a fire at a nearby industrial unit was connected to the refinery. However, IndianOil has now officially denied those claims and confirmed that the refinery remains safe and fully operational.
