Modi Alupo Uganda Meeting Held on BRICS Summit Sidelines

The Modi Alupo Uganda meeting took place on September 13, 2026, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Rose Epel Alupo on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

Both leaders reviewed bilateral ties between India and Uganda and emphasized the need to enhance cooperation through technology partnerships, capacity building, knowledge sharing, investment facilitation, and private-sector collaboration.

They underlined that the development partnership between the two countries is a source of mutual strength, with Modi reaffirming India’s support for Uganda’s “Vision 2040” plan for a transformed and prosperous Uganda, while both leaders noted that close people-to-people ties continue to give the partnership solidity.

The two leaders called for closer bilateral engagement to champion the voice of the Global South, and Modi thanked the Vice President for her participation in the summit.
