Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu baby shower pictures with her husband, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, surfaced on Monday, September 14, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi. Samantha, expecting her first child with Raj, shared a series of images from the traditional ceremony held at Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation.
What the Pictures Showed
The photos showed Samantha in a yellow ethnic outfit, hair left open, with minimal makeup and simple silver jewellery. One glimpse showed Raj showering her with rose petals, while other images captured her taking part in rituals as women around her chanted mantras.
The Meaning Behind the Rituals
Samantha explained that a Srividya Upaasaka priest guided her through the ceremony, helping her understand the significance of each step. One key ritual performed was Kalaa Aavarana, also known as Sri Kalpam, which honours the 94 kalas of the Devi and focuses on energising the mother-to-be. She wrote that she has always respected Indian traditions, even without fully understanding every ritual, and found something powerful in sitting through the ceremony while grasping what was being invoked for her and her baby.

Raj Nidimoru took part in the celebrations alongside close family. Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, and actress Krithi Shetty were among those who reacted warmly in the comments.
The Couple’s Journey So Far
Samantha confirmed her pregnancy at the success meet of her recent release, Maa Inti Bangaaram, which crossed ₹100 crore worldwide, and announced she would take a maternity break afterward. She and Raj, who first worked together on The Family Man Season 2 and later on Citadel: Honey Bunny, married in December 2025 at the Isha Foundation’s Linga Bhairavi Temple in Coimbatore.
