The state government has reviewed the possible impact of El Niño, rainfall shortages and the risk of drought across the state. During a meeting with senior officials, the state leadership directed departments to take precautionary measures to prevent electricity and drinking water problems from becoming more serious. The review focused on preparedness, continuous monitoring and coordinated action to protect the public from potential difficulties.
Officials were instructed to prepare detailed plans to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply to people across the state. The government stressed the need for advance planning to address possible water shortages, particularly if rainfall remains below normal. Departments were asked to identify vulnerable areas and take timely steps to prevent disruptions to essential services.
The leadership also directed officials to create public awareness about the possible effects of El Niño and its impact on weather conditions. As part of the monitoring process, Group 1 and Group 2-level officers are to be appointed to every mandal. These officers will monitor local conditions, assess emerging problems and help ensure that preventive measures are implemented effectively.
The government further instructed field-level officials to share regular updates with the Chief Secretary. All departments were asked to coordinate their efforts and respond quickly to changing conditions. The focus is on identifying potential risks early and ensuring that people do not face avoidable hardships because of water shortages, electricity disruptions or drought-related problems.
The review highlights the importance of preparedness as the state faces concerns over El Niño and uncertain rainfall conditions. The effectiveness of these measures will depend on timely implementation, accurate field reports and coordination between departments. The government aims to strengthen its response and ensure that essential services remain available to the public.
