Bengaluru Stone Quarry Accident: 7 Workers Killed in Rock Collapse

Bengaluru stone quarry accident: Seven labourers lost their lives after a massive rock collapsed at a stone quarry in Bengaluru South district on Thursday morning. Rescue teams are continuing their search as officials fear more workers may still be trapped under the debris.

Accident Happened During Quarry Work

The accident took place in Madapattana in Bengaluru South district. The workers were carrying out quarry operations at a stone crusher site when a huge rock suddenly collapsed on them.

The victims were trapped under the rock and died at the scene.

Workers Believed to Be From Bihar and Assam

According to initial reports, all seven workers were daily-wage labourers believed to be from Bihar and Assam.

Several other workers were injured in the accident. They were shifted to a private hospital for treatment. However, officials are still confirming the exact number of injured people.

Rescue Operations Continue

Police and rescue teams reached the quarry soon after receiving information about the collapse. Rescue work is still underway because more workers may be trapped beneath the fallen rock.

Authorities are expected to provide more details after the rescue operation is completed.
