The Anshul Kuncha Philadelphia case has sparked grief and concern after a 28-year-old Indian national was shot dead while delivering pizza in North Philadelphia, United States.
Authorities said the incident occurred early Friday at Raymond Rosen Homes. Investigators believe the victim may have been lured to a vacant unit before the attack. The tragic incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of delivery workers and international students living abroad.
Anshul Kuncha Philadelphia Incident Under Investigation
Police found Anshul Kuncha’s body near the delivery location along with unopened pizza boxes, his delivery bag and several shell casings.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed two suspects following him shortly before the shooting. Investigators are now examining all available evidence to identify those responsible.
Officials have not announced any arrests so far.
Family Believes It Was a Planned Attack
Kuncha’s sister, Tanvi, described the incident as a deliberate trap rather than a robbery attempt.
According to family members, the attackers did not steal any belongings from the victim. This detail has strengthened suspicions that the shooting may have been premeditated.
The family is now seeking justice while coping with the sudden loss.
Indian Consulate Extends Support
The Indian Consulate is assisting the family and coordinating with local authorities.
Officials are also helping with arrangements to transport Kuncha’s mortal remains to India so that his family can perform the final rites.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia authorities have announced a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects.
Safety Concerns for Workers Abroad
The tragedy has renewed discussions about the risks faced by delivery workers, especially those working late-night shifts.
Many members of the Indian community in the United States have expressed condolences and called for stronger protections for workers who rely on delivery jobs while studying or building careers abroad.
The investigation remains ongoing.
