CM MK Stalin’s Europe Tour: Investments, Identity & Global Outreach

Warm Welcome in Germany

Chief Minister Stalin landed in Düsseldorf on August 30, 2025.

Tamil diaspora greeted him with flowers, Tamil flags, and a grand cultural reception.

Stalin posted on X: “Hallo Deutschland! Embraced by the affection of my Tamil family here.”

Investment Conclave in Düsseldorf

On September 1, he led a high-powered investment meet in Düsseldorf.

Business leaders and industrial giants from Germany and Europe participated.

Talks focused on manufacturing, high-tech industries, renewable energy, and EVs.

Stalin also held a one-on-one meeting with NRW Chief Minister Hans Hendrik Wüst to strengthen industrial cooperation.

Tamil Nadu’s Economic Vision

The DMK government since 2021 has secured ₹10.62 lakh crore investments through 922 MoUs.

These investments created 32 lakh+ jobs for the youth of Tamil Nadu.

Earlier foreign tours (U.S., Spain, UAE, Singapore, Japan) brought 36 MoUs worth ₹18,498 crore, with 23 already being implemented.

Stalin reiterated Tamil Nadu’s target: becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

Cambridge & Oxford University Engagements

On Sept 2-3, Stalin visited Cambridge University to interact with entrepreneurs, researchers, and academics.

On Sept 4, at Oxford University, he unveiled a portrait of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy.

The event also marked the centenary of the Self-Respect Movement with the release of two commemorative books.

Stalin declared: “Oppression is my enemy – Periyar’s voice now resonates at Oxford.”

Diaspora Connect in London

On Sept 6, he attended Tamil diaspora welfare and cultural meets in London.

Recognized contributions of global Tamils in education, business, and culture.

Invited the diaspora to invest in Tamil Nadu’s growth story.

Blending Culture with Commerce

The trip balanced economic diplomacy with cultural symbolism.

Investment talks in Germany + academic/cultural diplomacy in the UK created a dual impact.

Showcased Tamil Nadu as both a modern industrial hub and a torchbearer of social justice values.

Political Undertone

Critics questioned foreign trips as “showpiece tours.”

Stalin countered: “Unlike earlier tours, ours have delivered jobs and industries.”

Highlighted the 77–80% MoU implementation rate as proof of credibility.
