KV Anudeep’s Funky teaser landed today, and it’s exactly the zany, self-aware comedy his fans expected — colourful, fast-cut, and gleefully poking fun at the film industry itself. The one-minute teaser introduces Vishwak Sen asKomal, a film director caught in a whirl of eccentric characters and deliberately over-the-top situations that lean into Anudeep’s trademark farce.
Anudeep turns the camera on Tollywood in this satire: the teaser flashes cheeky lines (including a wink at “films with no part 2”), quick comic set pieces, and a parade of character actors whose reactions sell the gag-heavy tone. The film pairs Vishwak with Kayadu Lohar (playing Chitra, the producer’s daughter), and also features veterans such as Naresh, Muralidharan and Tanikella Bharani. The teaser’s humour is very much in the Jathi Ratnalu vein — self-aware, absurd and purposely broad.
Technically the teaser shines too: Bheems Ceciroleo’s background score adds bounce to the edits, Naveen Nooli’s cuts keep the pace taut, and Suresh Sarangam’s visuals flood the frames with bright, lively colour — all pointing to a full-on comic ride when the film releases. Producers Naga Vamsi (Sithara Entertainments) and Sai Soujanya (Fortune Four Cinemas), with Srikara Studios presenting, have backed the project; makers are targeting a December 2025 theatrical release.
Early reaction from the teaser suggests audiences who enjoyed Anudeep’s earlier brand of comedy will find a lot to like here — an energetic lead performance from Vishwak Sen, punchy writing from Anudeep and Mohan Sato, and a packaging that’s unabashedly fun. If the teaser is anything to go by, Funky is shaping up to be a colourful, crowd-pleasing satire that laughs at the very world it belongs to.
