‘Insult to Every Mother’: PM Modi Slams RJD-Congress Over Abusive Remarks Against His Late Mother

New Delhi, Sep 2, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday delivered a sharp rebuttal over the controversy surrounding alleged abusive remarks against his late mother during a Congress-RJD rally in Bihar. Calling the incident “deeply painful,” PM Modi said the remarks were not just a personal attack but an insult to every mother, sister, and daughter of the nation.

“Mother is our world. Mother is our self-respect. I had not even imagined what happened a few days ago in this tradition-rich Bihar. My mother was abused from the stage of RJD-Congress. These abuses are not just an insult to my mother but to every mother, sister, and daughter of India.”

The Prime Minister added that the people of Bihar shared his anguish, saying he could feel the pain and tears of mothers in the state who were deeply hurt by the remarks.

Modi’s Emotional Recall of His Mother

PM Modi, whose mother passed away in December 2022 at the age of 100, recalled her sacrifice:

“My mother distanced me from herself so that I could dedicate my life to serving the nation. That mother of mine, who had nothing to do with politics and is no more, was abused on a political stage. This is very sad and painful.”
