PM Narendra Modi to Visit Andhra Pradesh on October 16 – Foundation Stones, Inaugurations, and Darshan at Srisailam

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh on October 16, 2025, for a day packed with spiritual devotion and major developmental initiatives worth around ₹13,430 crore. His visit will cover Srisailam in Nandyal district and Kurnool, marking a significant boost for infrastructure, industry, defence, and energy sectors in the state.

Morning Schedule: PM in Srisailam

At around 11:15 AM, the Prime Minister will perform Pooja and Darshan at the sacred Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shakti Peethas of India.This temple is unique as it houses both a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth within the same premises a rare divine combination that draws millions of devotees each year.

Following this, at around 12:15 PM, PM Modi will visit the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra in Srisailam.The memorial complex celebrates the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, featuring a Dhyana Mandir (Meditation Hall) surrounded by models of four historical forts—Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri—with a meditating statue of Shivaji Maharaj at the center.The Kendra was established to commemorate Shivaji Maharaj’s visit to Srisailam in 1677.

Afternoon Schedule: PM in Kurnool

After the spiritual visit, the Prime Minister will head to Kurnool, where at around 2:30 PM, he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate, and dedicate multiple national projects worth ₹13,430 crore.He will also address a public meeting to mark the occasion.

Key Projects and Investments

1. Power Transmission

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Transmission System Strengthening Project at Kurnool-III Pooling Station, with an investment of ₹2,880 crore.The 765 KV double-circuit Kurnool–Chilakaluripeta line will enhance transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA, enabling large-scale renewable energy transmission.

2. Industrial Development

Two major industrial areas—Orvakal (Kurnool) and Kopparthy (Kadapa)—will be developed with a combined investment of ₹4,920 crore.Jointly developed by NICDIT and APIIC, these hubs are expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in investments and create around 1 lakh jobs, boosting industrialisation in Rayalaseema.

3. Road Infrastructure

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation for a six-lane Greenfield Highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar, worth ₹960 crore, easing traffic in Visakhapatnam.He will also inaugurate six major road projects worth ₹1,140 crore, including four-lane expansions, bypasses, and bridges improving connectivity across Andhra Pradesh.

4. Railways

Projects worth ₹1,200 crore will be launched, including:

  • Foundation stone for the Kottavalasa–Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line
  • Rail Flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North
  • Dedication of the Kottavalasa–Boddavara and Shimiliguda–Gorapur doubling projects

These works will enhance passenger convenience, freight movement, and regional connectivity.

5. Energy & Petroleum

PM Modi will dedicate to the nation the Srikakulam–Angul Natural Gas Pipeline (GAIL), built at ₹1,730 crore, and inaugurate Indian Oil’s LPG Bottling Plant in Chittoor, established with ₹200 crore investment.The plant will serve 7.2 lakh consumers across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

6. Defence Manufacturing

At Nimmaluru in Krishna district, the Prime Minister will dedicate Bharat Electronics Limited’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory, built at ₹360 crore.The facility will produce advanced electro-optical systems for the Indian Armed Forces, enhancing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
