Chennai : Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has publicly criticized the current administration, raising concerns about governance, leadership, and public accountability. EPS highlighted issues around public trust and the government’s response to recent tragedies.

EPS Speaks on Public Safety and Leadership

“The people of Tamil Nadu expect leaders to act responsibly during crises. Image-building or photoshoots cannot replace genuine empathy and action.”

“Incidents like the Karur stampede and other tragedies reveal serious lapses in governance. Citizens deserve clarity and justice.”

“It is the duty of the administration to ensure public safety. Failure to act responsibly only erodes trust and creates political unrest.”

EPS also questioned the current leadership’s priorities, suggesting that personal or ceremonial activities are being prioritised over urgent public needs.

Call for Transparent Investigations

EPS emphasized that impartial investigations are necessary to restore public confidence. “The public has a right to know the truth behind these tragedies. Only transparent investigations will ensure justice for the victims,” he said.

EPS’s statements have triggered discussions across social media and news portals. Citizens and political commentators are debating the administration’s efficiency and accountability. EPS’s critique arrives at a time when public scrutiny of Tamil Nadu’s leadership is intense, making his words particularly impactful.

He questioned:

  • “What rumor is being spread? The posters in the name of ‘Tamil Nadu Student Union’ by DMK cadres? Or the visuals of police lapses, ambulance politics, and lathi-charge during Karur events? Are these rumors, or the government’s failures?”

Targeting the DMK’s Double Standards

EPS further accused DMK leaders of insensitivity, pointing out that:

  1. A minister was caught “pretending to cry.”

  2. The Deputy CM and CM’s son “took photos in Karur only to leave for a Dubai vacation immediately after.”

  3. The government remained silent during Kallakurichi hooch deaths and the Chennai Air Show tragedy that killed five people.

“Why did your heart not break then? Why the selective outrage now?” EPS asked.

With Edappadi K. Palaniswami questioning governance, accountability, and public safety measures, the spotlight is now firmly on the Tamil Nadu administration. Citizens demand transparency, justice, and strong leadership in the state.
