Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Fights for Indian Techies Amid Trump’s H-1B Shock

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has strongly objected to the recent executive orders issued by former U.S. President Donald Trump concerning H-1B visas, expressing grave concern over their potential impact on Indian professionals working in the United States.

The Chief Minister, in his statement shared on X, said the latest U.S. move has sent shockwaves among the Indian community, particularly Telugu tech professionals, whose employment and immigration prospects could be seriously affected.

Calling the decision “unprecedented and unacceptable” in the long history of India–U.S. relations, Revanth Reddy reminded that Indian tech talent has been a backbone of the American economy for decades, contributing significantly across the IT, healthcare, and skilled labor sectors.

“This is a deeply concerning development. If not addressed quickly, Indian professionals may face unforeseen hardships,” the Chief Minister warned.

He urged the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, to immediately intervene and seek a diplomatic resolution with Washington.

Highlighting the scale of the issue, Revanth Reddy pointed out that Telugu-origin engineers and IT professionals form a seizable portion of the H-1B visa workforce, and any abrupt restrictions would not only destabilise their lives abroad but also have a ripple effect on the Indian tech industry.

The Chief Minister’s intervention comes at a time when India’s technology sector is voicing increasing anxiety over tightening U.S. immigration norms, which could hinder global mobility for skilled Indian workers.

South Matters will continue to track updates on the diplomatic outreach between New Delhi and Washington on this crucial matter.
