Former CM tears into ‘Super Six’ celebrations, calls it a ‘forcible revelry’
Former Chief Minister, YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Addressing press in YSRCP Central Office on 10th sept 2025.
Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh, Sept 10: Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday strongly criticized the ruling coalition government, accusing it of misleading the people with false promises, indulging in large-scale corruption, and attempting to privatize government medical colleges.
YS Jagan warned that the YSRCP would vehemently oppose the privatization move and take part in protests along with like-minded groups. He added that if the decision is not rolled back, a future YSRCP government would reverse it in the interest of the people.
Calling the coalition’s “Super Six” celebrations a “Super flop”, he described them as a “forcible revelry” that sought to mask the government’s failures. “Farmers have become victims of Chandrababu’s greed, the healthcare sector has been crippled, and poll promises remain unfulfilled,” Jagan alleged.
Farmers’ Distress and Urea Shortage
The YSRCP president highlighted the severe shortage of urea, alleging that fertilizers were being diverted by TDP cadre and middlemen and sold at double the price. “During our term, we established Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) as one-stop solutions for farmers and created a ₹3,000 crore Price Stabilization Fund to support them during price fluctuations. Now, scams worth hundreds of crores are happening at the cost of farmers,” he charged.
Healthcare Under Threat
Recalling his government’s plan to establish one medical college in every district, Jagan said that work had begun on 17 medical colleges, with five already functional and several others nearing completion. Each project was planned on 50 acres with an investment of ₹500 crore.
“Instead of strengthening public healthcare, Chandrababu Naidu is giving away these medical colleges to private players for kickbacks. This move will weaken the medical system and push the poor into the hands of private hospitals,” he warned.
He added that during the YSRCP government, the public health network was streamlined from district-level medical colleges to village-level clinics, ensuring access to healthcare and medical education for the poor. “Now, Aarogyasri and Aarogya Asara have been neglected, and the welfare schemes introduced by us are being systematically dismantled,” he alleged.
Super Six Exposed
Showing pre-election and post-election advertisements of the government’s “Super Six” promises, Jagan pointed out that three major pledges—unemployment stipend, Stree Nidhi, and pensions for BC and minority women—were missing. “This shows how people are being misled,” he said.
He also alleged that the coalition government has already borrowed ₹2 lakh crore since coming to power, but there is no clarity on how the funds were utilized. “Wealth creation under Chandrababu is only for his close associates, as evident from widespread corruption in sand, liquor, mining, and land deals,” Jagan alleged.
Opposition Role and Democracy
Condemning notices issued to YSRCP leaders who raised farmers’ issues, he said it was a direct attack on democracy. “It is not a crime to question the government about fertilizer shortages or MSP. If the ruling coalition refuses to give proper recognition to the Opposition in the Assembly, it only reflects their lack of respect for democracy,” he remarked.
YS Jagan concluded by reiterating his party’s commitment to fight for farmers, students, and the poor, and to resist every attempt to privatize public institutions.
