MS Dhoni Praises RCB’s Success Amid CSK’s Recent Struggles

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has spoken about the team’s challenges over the past two years while praising Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for their recent success. Dhoni made the remarks during a healthcare event in Bengaluru on October 24.

CSK faced a difficult campaign in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), finishing eighth amid injury concerns. Reflecting on the team’s struggles, Dhoni highlighted the impact injuries can have on a side’s performance and expressed hope that CSK would return stronger in 2027 with a fully fit squad.

Dhoni also praised RCB for their reported back-to-back IPL titles in 2025 and 2026 under captain Rajat Patidar. He emphasised that success in cricket depends on performance on the day rather than a team’s strength on paper.

His comments drew appreciation from fans, many of whom viewed his praise for a rival franchise as a sign of sportsmanship. Dhoni’s measured response also highlighted the importance of focusing on performance rather than past records or expectations.

As CSK look ahead to the 2027 season, the team will hope to overcome its injury problems and return to winning form. Dhoni’s remarks have renewed discussion among fans about the challenges facing CSK and RCB’s reported recent achievements.
