KTR Alleges Telangana Government Withheld ₹30,000 Crore in Rythu Bharosa Funds

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Telangana Congress government of failing to fulfil its promises to farmers. He alleged that the government withheld nearly ₹30,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

In a post on X, KTR targeted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and claimed that around 70 lakh farmers were waiting for financial support promised before the Assembly elections.

“During your 30 months in power, you denied farmers nearly ₹30,000 crore in Rythu Bharosa assistance. Instead of helping farmers, your government is spending time on public meetings and political events,” KTR said.

The BRS leader also alleged that the Congress government failed to release Rythu Bharosa assistance on four occasions. He claimed the party had promised ₹15,000 per acre every year before the elections but failed to deliver after coming to power.

KTR further accused the government of not implementing its promise to waive farm loans of up to ₹2 lakh. He also alleged that farmers continue to face urea shortages and delays in crop procurement.

He said the government should focus on solving farmers’ problems instead of organising political programmes. According to KTR, the money spent on public meetings could have helped provide financial support to farmers.

The Telangana government has not issued an official response to KTR’s allegations at the time of publishing this report.
