Kabaddi Coach in POCSO Case Faces Fresh Allegations From Athlete’s Mother

Chennai: The mother of a 17-year-old kabaddi player has made fresh allegations against coach Raji, who already faces a case under the POCSO Act.

She claims the coach manipulated her daughter and turned her against the family. She also says he spoke to the teenager in an inappropriate manner and influenced her through regular conversations.

The issue comes after another 17-year-old kabaddi player filed a complaint against the coach at the Semmancherry All Women Police Station. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and other sections. Since then, the coach has remained absconding.

The athlete’s mother said she submitted audio recordings, WhatsApp chats, and other evidence to the Tambaram Police Commissionerate. She believes the material proves the coach influenced her daughter.

She also claimed her daughter first told the family that the coach kept troubling her. Later, she started defending him and even spoke against her own mother.

The mother further alleged that the prize money and rewards her daughter received after winning gold at the Asian Kabaddi Championship went into the coach’s bank account without the family’s knowledge. She also claimed he controlled her daughter’s bank accounts.

According to her, several parents of other kabaddi players now support her after seeing the evidence. She also accused the coach and his friends of creating fake Facebook accounts to spread false information.

The family approached the Tambaram Police Commissionerate after they felt the earlier complaint did not receive enough action. Police accepted the complaint and assured the family that they would take strict action.

The investigation is continuing, and police are searching for the coach. Authorities have not yet responded publicly to the latest allegations. The allegations against the coach remain under investigation.
