New Delhi, June 15, 2026 — India and France have adopted the India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030 to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence, research, startups, health data, space, education, and emerging technologies.
The roadmap builds on the Special Global Strategic Partnership announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on February 17, 2026. It also follows the India-France Year of Innovation 2026.
India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030 Focuses on Trusted AI
Trusted AI stands at the center of the new roadmap. Both countries will work on safe, secure, and responsible AI systems.
Moreover, India and France will promote AI models that support democratic values and human rights. They will also focus on reducing misinformation and preventing discrimination.
In addition, both sides will deepen cooperation on child safety online. The roadmap highlights privacy-preserving age checks, safety-by-design systems, and stronger AI safety standards for children.
Academic Mobility and Student Exchanges Get a Push
The roadmap also gives major importance to education and people-to-people ties.
France aims to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030. Therefore, both countries will work to expand academic mobility and research partnerships.
India and France also plan to update their Mutual Recognition of Qualifications framework. As a result, more students and professionals may benefit from easier mobility, dual degrees, and doctoral research cooperation.
Startups, Skilling and Industry Partnerships
The roadmap supports stronger links between startups, industries, universities, and research institutions.
India and France will promote the India-France Innovation Network. They will also support startup exchange through the proposed India-France InnoXchange Bridge.
Furthermore, both countries will establish an aeronautics training campus in Kanpur. The campus will help train talent for aviation and allied sectors.
Health Data and Space Cooperation
India and France will also expand cooperation in health research.
The Indian Council of Medical Research and France’s Health Data Hub will work on consent-based data sharing. This can support AI-driven health research while protecting privacy.
Meanwhile, both countries will strengthen space cooperation. Upcoming events in Bengaluru and Paris will bring together space agencies, companies, and researchers from both countries.
A Future-Focused Partnership
The India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030 aims to create trusted technology ecosystems. It also supports strategic autonomy, sustainable development, and innovation-led growth.
Overall, the roadmap gives both countries a clear framework to build long-term cooperation in critical and emerging technologies.
