Chennai, Oct 1: In the aftermath of the tragic Karur stampede that claimed several lives and left many injured, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) has announced the postponement of all its public meetings for the next two weeks.

The decision, made with the approval of TVK president Thalapathy Vijay, reflects the party’s stand to prioritize the grief and recovery of the people over political campaigns. “This is a moment of pain and sorrow. Our leader believes it is our duty to stand with the families who lost their loved ones,” a TVK statement said.

Vijay’s Karur Visit :

According to party sources, Vijay will travel to Karur next week under police security to personally meet the families affected by the tragedy. He is expected to offer condolences, extend financial and moral support, and interact with the injured who are undergoing treatment.

Public Meetings to Resume Later :

TVK clarified that new dates for the postponed meetings will be announced soon. The decision is aimed at ensuring that political activities do not overshadow the mourning of families still coping with the aftermath of the Karur incident.

By postponing political programs and directly choosing to meet the victims, Vijay has once again positioned himself as a leader who values people over politics. His upcoming Karur visit is seen as a significant moment in connecting with those who suffered during the stampede.
